This speculative fiction novel is a look at a dystopian future that many women would likely find fascinating and discussion-worthy.
Margaret Atwood is a creative and intriguing writer and - having read several of her works - I am yet to find one that I found boring.
In this specific novel, we see glimpses of a future where the freedoms and rights of most women have been stripped away.
This causes the reader to compare women of today with the women of the past and investigate the similarities of how society dictates how women "should" be or "should" act.
I loved this book and would recommend it to any book club, especially one that focuses on women-friendly or feminist books.

Thanks, Danielle, for reviewing this classic book club pick that also happens to be one of my favorite books.
I think all book clubs should read at least one Atwood book at some point. She's by far one of the most accomplished authors of our time. Other great books by Atwood include The Blind Assassin, Alias Grace and The Year of the Flood.
